Press and hold for two seconds
A deliberate hold, not a tap — so nothing goes out from inside a pocket. Your location goes with it if your phone can get a fix, and the alert is raised either way rather than waiting on one.

Every colleague is told at once
Everyone in your organisation is notified wherever they are, on their phone, even with the app closed. The notification itself says nothing — a lock screen in a public place gives nothing away.

Watch help arrive
See who's coming on a live map, with their name and job title, updating as they head over. Add a note saying what's happening, and close the alert yourself the moment it's over.
An alert that nobody closes ends by itself after an hour, so a forgotten one never sits there looking live.

Location only while it matters
Location is shared during a live alert and at no other time. There is no background tracking of staff in Skuark Business — not as a setting you switch off, but as a thing the app does not do.
Staff noticeboard
Shift notes, a visitor to expect, a photo of the rota on the wall. Posts clear themselves after seven days, and offensive language is filtered automatically before anyone sees it.
Work chat, one-to-one and in groups
Message a colleague or set up a group for a team, a shift or a site — inside the organisation, so nobody needs a personal number to reach anybody.
Voice and video calls
Call or video-call a colleague straight from their profile. On the iPhone and Android apps an incoming call rings like a phone call, so it's answerable without unlocking anything.
A calendar that asks, not tells
Month, week and day views with reminders. When a manager puts something in a staff member's calendar it waits for their answer — accepted, or declined with a reason — so nobody assumes cover that was never agreed.
Shared jobs and to-do lists
Managers set jobs for the people they manage and see at a glance what's still outstanding; everyone keeps their own list and ticks things off as they go.
Staff directory and profiles
A photo and a job title for everyone in the organisation, so a new starter knows who's who — and one tap from a colleague's page to message or call them.
Accounts without email addresses
Staff sign in with a username and password you generate for them. No work email, no personal address, no invitation to accept — useful when half a team doesn't have a work inbox at all.
Everyone controls their own notifications

- Create a staff account from a name and a job title. Skuark generates the username and password; you hand them over as a QR code they scan, or read them out.
- The handed-over password is spent the first time it's used — they choose their own at the door, so the one you texted stops working.
- Reset a password for anyone locked out. Every device still signed in on the old one is signed out immediately.
- Pause an account while somebody is away, and switch it back on when they return.
- Remove a leaver. Their access ends within seconds rather than whenever their session would have expired, and their place frees up straight away.

Questions businesses ask
How much does Skuark Business cost?+
It's priced per person, so the price depends on how many accounts your organisation needs. Send us an enquiry with your numbers and we'll come back with a quote — there's no checkout, no card details and no payment of any kind on this website.
How do we get started?+
Fill in the enquiry form on this page. We'll reply with a quote for the number of people you told us about. Once that's agreed we set your organisation up and email you the username and password for your management account, and from there you create your staff accounts yourself — each one takes a few seconds.
Do our staff need email addresses?+
No. You create each account from a name and, if you want, a job title; Skuark generates a username and a password for you to hand over. There's no inbox to check and no invitation to accept, which is what makes it workable for a team where not everyone has a work email address.
Who can see an alert one of our staff raises?+
Only your own organisation. A Skuark Business alert reaches every account in your organisation and nothing outside it — not other businesses, not the public Skuark network, not the public.
Is this a replacement for calling 999?+
No. In an emergency always call 999 or your local emergency number first. Skuark Business sits alongside that: it's how the colleagues already in the building know, in the seconds before anyone else can get there.
Are staff tracked while they're at work?+
No. Location is shared while an alert is live and at no other time — so a manager cannot look up where somebody is, because there's nothing to look up. Colleagues who respond to an alert share their position while they're on their way to it, and that stops when the alert ends.
What happens when someone leaves?+
A manager removes them. Their access ends within seconds — including on a device that's still signed in — and the place they were using is free for the next person. Their name still reads correctly on anything they did before they left.
What if we take on more people than we were quoted for?+
Ask for more places from inside the app — there's a form on the organisation screen, and you can tell us what's changed. Until then the number of accounts is capped at what you were quoted, so your costs can't drift without you knowing.
Can more than one person run it?+
Yes. The account that sets the organisation up can appoint any staff member as a manager, and managers can do everything the day-to-day running needs — adding staff, resetting passwords, setting jobs. Only the original account can appoint or dismiss managers, and it can't be removed or demoted by anyone else.
Where does our organisation's data live?+
In its own database, separate from the consumer Skuark app — a different system, not a partition of the same one. Noticeboard photos are held privately and are only ever readable by members of your organisation.
Which devices does it work on?+
iPhone, Android and any modern web browser. Staff who need alerts on the move use the phone app; someone at a desk can use the browser and see exactly the same thing.
